1. OBJECTIVES

1.    To achieve harmonious relationship among student-members and school personnel.

2.    To enhance leadership potential of student-members.

3.    To train students in the area of helping their peers.

4.    To enable students to come up with realistic decisions and demonstrate self-awareness of others.

5.    To provide the students with leadership and facilitating skills needed for individual and group processing.

2. SCOPE

This program shall be open to all students. It shall cover recruitment, selection, training and management of peer facilitators.

4. POLICIES

1.    The Guidance and Counseling Center, represented by the Peer Moderator and Co-Moderator, shall identify qualified student-applicants as peer facilitator.

1.    Membership shall be open to all interested LCCian students.

2.    Psychology students are strongly encouraged to become part of the group.

2.    The Guidance and Counseling Center, represented by the Peer Moderator and Co-Moderator, shall prepare the necessary training modules for peer aspirants.

1.    To qualify as peer facilitators, applicants shall be screened based on the recruitment process stipulated in the Constitution and By-Laws of the organization.

3.    The Peer Facilitators shall undergo a series of training stipulated by the Mendiola Consortium, as well as internal training with the Guidance and Counseling Center.

4.    The Peer Moderator and Co-Moderator shall be in-charge of the management of peer facilitators which covers tracking of records, follow-up and overseeing them throughout the school year.

5.    The Peer Facilitators’ Program shall be presented in the form of an extra-curricular organization, as well as an umbrella organization of the Guidance and Counseling Center.

1.    The Peer Facilitators’ Program, as an extra-curricular organization, shall be recognized as the “Peer Volunteers’ Association,” under the Office of the Student Affairs

2.    The Peer Facilitators’ Program, as an umbrella organization of the Guidance and Counseling Center, shall be involved in all activities of the said center.

5. NARRATIVE PROCEDURES

1.    Identify qualified applicants as peer facilitator.

  1. Gives applicants the application form and inform them of the nature of the organization

  1. Upon accomplishing the form, applicant undergoes a test battery and thorough interview with the peer officers and moderator.

  1. Posts selected peer members on the designated bulletin board.
